I have had the pleasure this week to spend time with sweet friends who “fill my cup.” Such a blessing! I encourage you to seek out time with friends who leave you feeling recharged and refreshed! I also encourage you to be on the lookout for opportunity to be that kind of encourager to others in your life. We need each other! Sometimes it is the small stuff too. I hear often people saying that they don’t see the kind of people looking out for people in neighborhoods the way it was when they were growing up and sometimes I think people fail to realize that takes work. It didn’t happen by accident. People didn’t have a magic ball that told them when neighbor A needed help they were out talking to the neighbors and connecting. You might not know neighbor A needed help but if you were in contact with neighbor E that neighbor helped you to know what you could do to help. However if you don’t know any neighbors you won’t know how to help and sadly when you are the one in need of help it can feel like nobody cares.
Friends or neighbors even small gestures can mean the world to people in ways we can’t imagine because we often don’t know what people are facing. Acts of kindness are there own reward but sometimes they have a much bigger effect than we intended when they occur at challenging times for others.
