As the days grow shorter and the nights grow cooler I find myself looking back over recent days, gathering summer moments. Bounty from the garden and beautiful blossoms from our own backyard were pleasing to the palate and a feast for the eyes.
Thinking about sunny days spent hiking, fishing, camping together as a family bring a smile to my face and joy to my heart.
Birthdays, birthdays, birthdays, so many birthdays! I have lost track of how many candles we blew out this summer but I won’t forget the beaming faces, moments of celebration and amazing cake creations.
And speaking of celebrations – there was a celebration of sorts here on our property as our son wrapped up summer before heading off to university. He planned a Big Paintball Blast for friends and family. His big brother even made the trip down from the big city. Fun was had by all, no major injuries, but plenty of stories to relive in the coming days.
Boat Racing. . . Lego Club. . . Sisters’ Crafting Club. . . Sidewalk Art. . . Days of Dress Up Fun. . . just a sampling of the memories we’ve made.
And Grandchildren! Hugs and Kisses and Squeezes and Squeals . . . and news of yet another grandbaby to arrive after the first of the year. . . we are so very blessed.
Speaking of new birth . . . our daughter was buried in baptism and raised a new creation in Christ. . . Hallelujah, the Angels are Rejoicing!!! (and so are her Mama and Daddy)
Cheryl has been hosting a party to Gather the Moments at the end of each month. I’ve been late to the party most months, but I hope to join her in the months to come. It’s such a nice way to relive our collected memories and celebrate the joys and blessings in life. We are turning from slow and easy summer days to full and satisfying Autumn routine.
This transitioning from summer to fall is my favorite time of year – warm days and cool nights, regular daily routine in place, anticipation of the holidays – what is your favorite time of year? Why?
Sharing at some of these wonderful places.

No worries about being late, Linda! I’m just glad you “gathered” your lovely summer moments and shared them! So many happy things, all blessings from our gracious Father!
So your summer is full of birthdays too, I see. What a blessing to see your daughter baptized! And congratulations on the new little blessing to come!

Sounds like an awesome summer. Mine flew by as well but there are definitely some grand sparkly moments sprinkled all through including board game fun, craft projects, and plenty of fun giggles and grins – along with sweet cuddles and prayers together. Have a blessed and beautiful week!
