What season are you entering at your house? Finishing the school year? Getting ready for summer? For my family, we are entering BIRTHDAY SEASON! One birthday last week, another this week, and from late May to the end of June we have ten more. Whew! That’s just my own immediate family of children, their spouses and grandchildren. I wish we were all close enough to host one big birthday bash, but we’ll get creative in a long-distance kind of way. Now, for your weekly does of encouragement – last week’s most viewed post was Simple Changes You Can Make to Help Improve The Environment. Very appropriate since I am writing this post up on Earth Day.
This week I am featuring:
- How to Regrow Lettuce Leaves from Scraps because lettuce is about the only thing that will grow on my very shaded back patio and we often have the remnants of a head of lettuce on hand.
- Tutorial: beads eyepin pendant earrings because my daughters are often looking for a creative project.
- What The Pandemic can Teach Us because we all need encouraging words during this time, and this post was shared by our newest co-host!
And Now, for This Week’s Encouraging Hearts & Home Blog Hop!
Join your Encouraging Hearts & Home Co-Hosts each week for encouragement and support for your heart & your home. We hope to provide a space that builds each other up and lends a helping hand along the way. With all the negativity in the world, let’s shine a positive light! (Notice we have a new co-host joining us — she would love to have you stop by for a visit!)
Use the form below to share your family-friendly posts this week, and please consider these nice things you can do:
- Follow and/or subscribe to your host’s blog.
- Visit a few other bloggers and show them your support. We all love getting comments, and who knows what inspiration you may find? Be sure to share the love–that’s what a blog hop is all about!
- Check out our Encouraging Hearts & Home Pinterest board where each host pins her 10 favorite posts each week.
- Join us every Thursday!
- If you are interested in co-hosting, contact Linda at Apron Strings & Other Things!

The seasons at our house are all mixed up. I think this may be true at many other houses around the world as well.
Thank you for hosting! So happy to see the interest in how we can each contribute to improving the planet with my Simple Changes To Help Save The Planet tips article! We love the interest in and around Earth Day each year. Now to bring more awareness that every day is earth day!
You are welcome, Suzan π Thank you for joining us and sharing!
Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome here, Linda, and for featuring Deborah’s guest post. It was such a blessing to me during this difficult time. May the Lord bless you!
We are oh so glad to have you here with us, Cheryl π Thank you for sharing Deborah’s article with us. Encouraging words strengthen us.
Our son-in-laws both have birthdays in April so celebrations have been slim to none. We’ll need a grand birthday party when sheltering-in-place is over. π
A GRAND birthday party is exactly what you’ll need when all this is over, Lisa – I hope you do plan one π Blessings to you and your family!
Thank you for choosing to feature my post!
You are very welcome, Lisa π thanks so much for sharing with us!
Thanks so much for continuing to host during this health crisis, spreading beauty, laughter and information!! Stay Safe, Healthy and Happy!!
Hugs,
Debbie
It’s my pleasure, Debbie – we all need beauty, laughter and information, especially during times such as these. Have a lovely weekend!
Wow; that is a lot of birthdays! Our family tends to have them pretty well scattered throughout the year but funny enough my husbands family and my family often have birthdays of family members on the same day or born just a day apart so they are still clustered together- if that makes sense?!
It’s such fun when you have patterns, or clusters – kind of sets a framework for tradition! How fun to share birthdays with family members π I do love this whirlwind season of celebration, but by the time July rolls around, I’m exhausted!
Thanks so much for hosting! Iβm linking up today with WHO ARE YOU BLOGGING FOR? PART 1 OF 5 and I invite you to check out my 2 current link parties, one is themed, the other is any topic.
π
glad to have you join us, Dee. I visited your themed party earlier today – so fun!
Thank you for hosting! This is what I featured the week of 4-13 to 4-17-20 on my blog. On Tuesday was Best Potato Salad From Grandma. Wednesday was Creamy Lemon Bars GF. Thursday was Tuna Noodle Casserole. And winding up this Week of Stay at Home is Tip Friday Safely Freezing Meat and How-To make Homemade Brown Sugar. Enjoy! Think positive!
π
sounds delicious!
Wow! That is a lot of birthdays! As to season, Iβm just looking forward to not ragweed season. LOL!

Ragweed – ugh! Our season for that is late summer and it’s my one major allergy. Luckily our birthday season does not coincide!
Thank you for the party. I would say we are entering “Gardening Season” is our house as we are spending all our free time in the garden getting it ready to plant a large vegetable garden.
