What do a travel coffee mug. handwritten notes and lists, old road maps, a red dinner plate and a comic strip have in common? Christmas, of course! Thanks to my friend Lauren Lanker and her brand new ebook called Thinking Outside the Gift Box these common unimpressive items are being transformed into amazing Christmas gifts for some very special people I know.
This diy gift idea ebook is like no diy gift idea book you’ve ever seen before! Definitely offers up ideas for that person in your life who has everything. You think this book isn’t for you because you are not creative? I don’t believe it, you were created in the image of THE Creator, you were made to create! Thinking Outside the Gift Box is like a big pep talk – Lauren lets you know You can! You shall! You should!
Lauren says, “Remember: inspiration is infectious” and I know you’ll be off creating once you read her book. She wants us all to join in the fun and inspire one another, so she’s inviting everyone to share pictures and progress with on instagram and twitter with hashtag #thinkingoutsidethegiftbox.
Lauren gives you 21 specific ideas that are unique, clever, and sure to please – but she also gives you some ‘take away’ thoughts, tips on taking her ideas and running with them, using them as inspiration to personalize your gift giving. How wonderful is that?!

You’ve been one of my biggest cheerleaders along the way, and that’s a GIFT I don’t feel deserving of, but will accept with an open heart. 😉 So much love!
Love your book, Love your perky spirit, Love your ideas, Love you! I’m thrilled to be a part of your launch team and spread the love 🙂
I love the idea of more personalized gift wrap and memorable gifts! Fun giveaway, thanks.
Thank you Helen 🙂 Lauren is full of memorable and creative ideas. I’m glad you came by today!
I recipe book from a friend. We spent holidays together and I lived with her for a month before I moved out of the state. I love her food so much that she gave me a recipe book to fill with her recipes. I miss her so much, but that gift I’ll forever cherish.
What a special gift, Sharill. Thanks for sharing, and joining in the giveaway fun!
This looks great! I don’t want to wait another week, though (until the 23rd). I’m going to be hard pressed to wait another week until the 23rd! I guess if I were to win the basket, I could just give the book to my sister if I’d already purchased a copy for myself. Love the audio book on the premium package.
And clearly I should not have gotten up to refill my cup of coffee while writing that post. *sigh* Pardon the redundancies. Book looks good for this non-craftsy sort.
LOL, no worries, BTDT myself!
I like your way of thinking, Lisa! If you win, you’ll be able to gift this gift-giving package to your sister, for sure 🙂 the audio by Lauren herself is a treasure.
I love homemade cards from my little kids… they are the best presents hands-down!
I agree, Holly Marie 🙂 I have a bin full of those types of treasures stored away myself!
My most meaningful gifts have been my children from God.
AMEN! 😀
I love the personalized jewelry that I have received over the years!
I can understand that, Heather. It is special to be given something that is just for you, something personalized.
My favorite book that I got was from my mother-in-law gave me at Christmas time. She gave me a Barbie book of all the Barbie’s through the ages. It was so nice because I collect Barbies. She was so nice to me. I miss her so much. 🙁
She sounds like a special lady, Tammy <3 and she knew just what would make you feel special.
My favorite gift was probably the gift my hubby got me on our first Christmas together. He bought me a puppy to keep me company on the late nights when he was in grad school classes. She was such a sweet little dog! It was such a fun present!
The best gifts are the cute little things my kids make for me though. I especially love the little notes that they write to me in the cards.
awwww, such sweetness in ALL those gifts! You are a blessed woman, Lexi 🙂
Awesome! This books looks great and would definitely love to win it. I think the most meaningful gift I have received is the first Rose my husband give me, don’t know why exactly but there is something about that special day 🙂
I can understand why that’s such a special gift, Jessibeth 🙂 the meaning behind the gift is what is such a treasure and that’s exactly what Lauren addresses in her book!
This book sounds awesome! I love making gifts but I struggle with creativity. I would to win.
this ebook is filled with ideas to spark your creativity, Amanda 🙂
I love thoughtful gifts. My boyfriend surprised my by putting up a new mailbox and mailbox post one day while I was at work. I had mentioned in conversation that I thought my old one was an eyesore, so I loved that replaced it just to make me smile!
how nice that he picked up on what would please you, without you having to come right out and ask, Leah 🙂 sounds like your guy has a knack for creative gift-giving!
What a fun book. I would love to make something fun. I need lots of help with creativity 🙂
well, then, Becky, this is the book for you!Lauren has loads of ideas and inspiration to help jumpstart your creativity 🙂
I guess I like the gift of time. If someone cares enough just to hang out for the day, that’s the best gift to me. I hate to say it, but giving and receiving actual gifts is definitely not my strong suit. I have friends; however, to whom gift giving and receiving is very important, so I have to try!
I think the gift of time is one of the most precious gifts of all. And that is exactly the spirit throughout the entire ebook, Sandra. Lauren’s main purpose is to encourage us to give a bit of ourselves to those we love, and it doesn’t have to be a tangible gift! Recognizing that others’ love language is gift giving shows your generous heart. Blessings!
I am always looking for quick and unique gift ideas! I love the idea of personalizing packages instead of just using run of the mill paper.
you’ll love the ideas in this book, Emmalee 🙂
I think the most meaningful gift I have received was from my son. He was almost 6 and I was having another baby and he drew a picture of our family and me carrying his little brother in my belly!
aww, so sweet. What a treasure – the picture AND your son!
Thanks for the chance to win this great prize. My best gift was when my husband gave blood for the first time on Christmas Eve as his gift to me.
My pleasure, Grammy! Sounds like a very special man you have there 🙂
Thank you! My most memorable gift was the birth of my granddaughter on our now shared birthday. I had the greatest honor to be able to help deliver that sweet child!! Be especially blessed…
Oh what a most precious gift! I’ve had the honor of being present when 3 of our 6 grandchildren were born, it is a most amazing experience! Blessings to you, Kathy 🙂
A hand knitted baby blanket
how sweet, Ally 🙂 I love love love handmade gifts!
My engagement ring and wedding ring were most meaningful.
Happy Thanksgiving!
yes yes yes, Laura! I stand in awe at time, when I think of how much meaning, purpose, love, life those little pieces of metal and stone represent <3
When my first child was born, I called my own mother and thanked her for the gift of loving me all these years. I didn’t fully understand the full magnitude of this gift until my son was placed in my arms.
I am often blessed by my own daughters, Michaela, as they express similar things to me, as they travel their own journey through motherhood. It has strengthened our bond and love for one another.
Love anything my children ever made for me! The memories!! Your book looks yummy!! Can’t wait to take a peek!!
Memories are THE best gifts, Jennifer 🙂 And this book is De.Li.Ci.Ous! you’ll love it!
My husband made me a personalized bookmark and I love to read. It was so simple and sweet.
very special, Michelle!
I love to give and get meaningful gifts. It seems like so many people give gift cards these days and to me it just feels like trading money. I love when people go out of their way to find something special for someone. I know I always try my best to give gifts that are personal.
oh, Lara, then you are going to love this book! The bonuses Lauren offers to go along with it are like icing on the gift-giving cake, too 🙂
I love all the gifts I get. I suppose one really meaningful one I got is this poster board scrapbook that a friend of mine made for me. It was such a surprise!
Surprise gifts are the best! especially when made by a special friend. Thanks for stopping by, Lauren 🙂
