As parents, it is our job to teach our children truth. The very best tool we can use in teaching truth is our Bible. Bible Lessons from God’s Word contain all our little ones need to know in life and teaching these truths to them early gives them a good, strong, sound foundation on which to build.
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (Deuteronomy 6: 4-9 NKJV)
Some of my favorite memories from those early days with my little ones are times when we read about God’s people straight from the Bible and enjoying hands-on activities together to reinforce the lessons we should learn. Sometimes it included coloring, or cutting and pasting, maybe some paper folding.
Our oldest children are now beginning families of their own and they are bringing some of these same lessons to their own children. It is such a joy to see them sharing their memories and lessons with my grandchildren!
My son, hear the instruction of your father,
And do not forsake the law of your mother;
For they will be a graceful ornament on your head,
And chains about your neck.(Proverbs 1:8-9 NKJV)
We have written up some of these lessons and added the printable activity pages in pdf format so you could enjoy them with your little ones too! 12 Quick and Easy Bible Lessons for Little Ones is now available for only $1.99. Each of the lessons include a Scripture Reading, a Suggested Memory Verse, a printable activity page with instructions and suggestions on how to use it, and some have a suggested song or hymn. They are the same lessons I used with my own children. You can easily adapt them or add to them to suit your own family.
You can see the lesson on Joseph’s Coat of Many Colors in action HERE, where I share about an impromptu Bible Lesson I did with my youngest and 2 of my grandchildren last year. We had a wonderful time, learning about God’s love and creating beautiful pictures together.

Right now, I just read the Jesus Calling book. I have not looked any further to get something more appropriate for my Bee, even though I should. I’ll have to check this one out!

Linda, what a great resource you’ve provided! We are reading thru Daily Light each morning, but my all time favorite is studying the names of God 🙂 This makes me want to pull out some old blog posts and revisit them…

Thank you Arabah Joy 🙂 The names of God – what a wonderful study! And wouldn’t be amazing to study these names with our children?

We just finished the first part of the grapevine studies -stick figuring your way through the Bible. It’s great, my four year old could recall the story a day later, simple even for mom! I love the hands on activities for the little ones! Thanks for the chance!

I’ve heard great things about the Grapevine studies. We have our children do something similar during class and sermons during services.

Linda, What a fantastic resource. I always say my first and often only parenting book is The Bible. It is so exhilarating to learn more so I can teach my little ones. You have a great resource here that I will be checking out. Thank you!
