In my life this week I had a week of practicing patience and flexibility, along with opportunity to learn new things. I posted almost a week ago about all things you’d find here at Apron Strings & other things through the upcoming week. I accomplished some things, some I did not.
If anyone is disappointed they did not get a glimpse of our garden, I’m so sorry. If I’ve left anyone hanging over what I might dig out of the archives, I apologize. I’ll visit those topics in the days to come. Lord willing, there’s plenty of time.
I’ve been working hard behind the scenes, learning techy things in order to improve what you see here on this blog. It’s a labor of love, but it can be labor intensive at times.
In our homeschool this week I have been busy at work on our goals and lesson plans for the upcoming year. Earlier this week I shared how I go about this. Later this month I’ll be ready to share the details of those plans.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing . . . it’s been a quieter week here. Not on the go as much, though we did make it to Lego Club/Sisters Craft Day. We also had the (grown up) kids and grandkids for supper last night. On Friday I was able to help just a bit with a funeral dinner for the family of a long time member of our church. I had only briefly met the man that passed away, and did not know his family, but I enjoyed the fellowship of the ladies as we worked together in the kitchen and just hanging in the background to make a difficult time more bearable for those that were hurting.
My favorite thing this week was watching my own children helping tuck their niece and nephew into bed. My oldest children are becoming the most wonderful parents, and part of that is due to the fact they were able to ‘practice’ on their younger siblings. Now, our youngest are getting the opportunity to practice on our grandchildren. This is what I call The Circle of Life.
My kiddos favorite thing this week was Mom and Dad’s Date Night, because we brought home ice cream as a treat. Need I say more?
I’m working on wrapping up our Lilla Rose GiveAway (you can still enter up until midnight Sunday night!) My Independent Lilla Rose Consultant Amanda Smith has been a doll to work with. We’ve had fun getting to know each other. I appreciate her personal service and interest. She’s made this whole experience a breeze. I absolutely love love love this product and if you haven’t checked out her site full of beautiful hair accessories, please pay her a visit. And don’t miss your chance to enter! ~Giveaway Now Closed~
I’m cooking fish for dinner tomorrow. A friend blessed us with some of the most delicious fish, caught by himself personally, and we’ll be feasting on it tomorrow. Also canning up green beans and praying over the garden in hopes of a bountiful harvest this summer.
I’m grateful for my patient husband and understanding children who are my biggest cheerleaders as I venture into uncharted territory with this blogging gig and home business ventures.
A glimpse of Real Life . . .

After 30 minutes of focused teamwork – what a HUGE difference a half hour makes! Ready to organize for a new year.

Cleaned up or “real life”….what a nice big inviting room! 🙂
Thank you, Debra. Thanks for stopping by!
Love this glimpse into your day! Your blogging goals and aspirations sound much like mine do right now. Big lists and not enough time to finish it all… I just keep taking it one day at a time! 🙂
Yes, indeed, one day at a time 🙂 thanks for stopping by Leigh Ann, and for the sweet comment!
