Although I did not know it at the time, our homeschool library began with the birth of our firstborn. I wish I would have know about companies like Library and Educational Services LLC who carry beautiful Reinforced Hardcover Library Binding Nonfiction books as well as paperbacks like the Who Was . . . series. Also available at L.E.S. are resources like the Lifehouse Theater CDs and other various audio dramas. Our family enjoys these while traveling, working on art/craft projects, quiet time and bedtime. With our box of library-worthy goodies, our family received “Job–A Mondern Man.” I don’t think we’ve heard any other audio drama based on the life of Job and we all enjoyed listening to it.
Finding good quality non-fiction books at affordable prices for our home library has sometimes been challenging. L.E.S. We have been so very pleased with the Reinforced Hardcover Library Binding Nonfiction books we’ve received from them. Currently my 16 year old son is reading through a series of books on scientists. He loves getting a look at the lives of men like Copernicus and Aristotle and learn more about the discoveries they made. this set is easy reading, but still packed with meaty information.
My 14-year old is skimming through a series about the American Revolution. We live in the midst of where it all started and he’s enjoying learning more about the historic places we’ve been visiting on field trips the last two years.
We will be using a set of books all about the U.S. Presidents for our morning time this coming school year. I love having hard back books that stand up to daily usage. Finding them at wholesale prices makes it even better. That’s why I love using Library and Educational Services!
For this review we were also asked to choose one title from the Who Was…? series. These biographies are written in a fun and easy to read manner, that appeals to a wide range of ages. It’s a great read-aloud for children who are not yet strong readers yet still enjoyable for older ages as well. Our 13 year old chose Who Was Milton Bradley? so she could read it to read to her nieces and nephews.
We live not far from where Milton Bradley began his toy company. Recently we visited a toy exhibition in his home town that was entertaining for kids of all ages and their parents, too. Reading about the man who began it all reinforced the educational aspect of our fun museum outing.
I am so grateful for Library and Educational Services LLC. I started ordering from them more than 20 years ago! They were a life-saver way back when we had very few budget-friendly options for ordering resources for our homeschool. Having the chance to purchase library-quality books and resources at wholesale prices was a great blessing to our family way back then and continues to be so today. I am very happy to help get the word out to other families about this terrific company!
