This past year our family has made the choice to add more music into our school and home routine. That is why I was very happy to have the opportunity to use and review Guitar 360 Method. Well, I should say my son is learning to play guitar and was glad to get started with the Semester 1 Bundle, which includes 12 lessons for the first semester and also the Absolute Beginner Course with Bonus Songs.

Krisz Simonfalvi is the creator and instructor for these online classes. As a guitar teacher in real life with many years of experience instructing students in learning to play the guitar, he brings us lessons right to our own living room via virtual, pre-recorded sessions. His Semester 1 Bundle gives us a total of 18 classes, but they are self-paced, so we have been able to take these lessons as a rate that works for us, even reviewing and repeating lessons as needed.
Along with the recorded video lesson, students are given extra assignments such as ear training videos, practice videos, quizzes and tests. For some lessons you’ll find a download for printables to accompany what you are learning. I recommend you print and collect these in a binder for easy access and referral in future.
The Beginner’s Course provided us with terrific videos that give up close example and demonstration to help our son gain a good foundation and develop good technique as he moves into the full semester of lessons.
I have been impressed with the way Guitar 360 Method includes instruction for chords, strumming, fingerstyle, and picking notes. This has made it fun and interesting for our son in a way that makes want to keep on playing and not get frustrated because things got boring or too difficult. There is an excellent balance in this course between fundamentals, theory, musicality and fun. Each lesson sets a goal, gives instruction in fingering and theory, offers video instruction and practice assignments, and brings you to a place where you are playing music in a manner pleasing to the ear.
Semester 1 includes access to 13 Lessons. They are listed as though you’d use a lesson a week, but they are easily adapted to a faster or slower pace. You get to choose:
- Week 1- Fundamental Chord Shapes and a Textural, 16th Note Approach to Strumming
- Week 2- Basic Music Theory
- Week 3- First Scale, Foundational Element in Practical Music Theory
- Week 4- Adding Texture and Variety to Rhythm Guitar Playing
- Week 5- Adding the Minor Scale
- Week 6- Chords, Chord Progression and Musical Keys
- Week 7- Application of Understanding Intervals, Chords and Scales

Gabe, 16 years old, has been using these lessons independently, 3-4 days per week. He worked through the Absolute Beginner introduction lessons even though he has some basic knowledge of the guitar. We are glad we went this route because he has learned some new things and improved his skills. Now he’s begun Week 1 and ready for Week 2. This course is a good fit for anyone who has a desire to play and is willing to practice and learn. If a younger child is musically inclined and motivated I think they could easily work through this program. Mom and Dad can work along with them – there is no age limit!
The video below shows him practicing the 4-Finger Exercise assigned at the end of Week 1 lessons. It’s a basic exercise that builds finger strength as well as muscle memory.
Gabe’s Testimony:
I like this program because it gives you an end goal – for each class there is a song you are working up to. I like that the videos are short and it’s easy to go back and review and relearn what I need to. I can see the teacher clearly and up close and he has a good personality. That makes it keep your attention better and makes me want to work harder. Because I can see the teacher, a real person, it helps me remember the lesson better. I feel like I am learning and progressing more than I did with other videos I have tried in the past. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn to play the guitar or even someone who is looking for a refresher course or is wanting to improve their guitar skills.
Guitar 360 Method is not a subscription but a purchase. Once you own the Semester 1 bundle, it’s yours to keep! What a great benefit for homeschooling families who may have younger children growing into these lessons in the future (not to mention mom and dad – start a family band!)
Because of this, the cost is reasonable, in my opinion. The regular price of $149 includes the 3-week Beginners’ Course, Semester 1 (13 weeks long), and the 2 Bonus Song mini-courses. But with this review, they are offering a discount for our readers. When you are ready to checkout at Guitar360Method.com use code HOMESCHOOL20 to receive 20% off the Semester 1 Bundle for guitar.
