Happy Blogversary! I do still wear and apron…EVERYDAY! I have a stash of 50’s vintage aprons. Some are my mothers and some my grandmothers. I have also picked some vintage linens up at different garage sales and auctions. I have one or two modern but not many. My girls first sewing project was an apron!
Linda says
Love Vintage Aprons! How special you get to wear your mother’s and grandmother’s. Aprons are a fantastic first sewing project – I’m sure your girls’ aprons will be beautiful.
Rosilind Jukic says
I have one that my mother-in-law gave me for Christmas and one that I got from my grandma when she passed away.
Linda says
I love how aprons become heirlooms and often have special family ties π
Derika T. says
I do not own an apron, but I would like to win this one. I think that cleaning with an apron would motivate me to clean possibly. π
Linda says
I agree, Derika – putting on my apron really does help motivate me to get to work!
Kristin South says
I don’t wear an apron, I’ve just never had one. I wear skirts most of the time, and use those as towels/potholders when I’m cooking :). I have some kids that never touched the “apron strings” and some that are still clinging tight. I let them decide when to let go.
Linda says
I use my skirts in the same way when I’m not wearing my apron π and I have children in all different stages of attachement to my apron strings – that’s a good thing!
Shaunte Oakley says
I don’t have an apron, really need one b/c I’m so tired of ruining my shirts while cooking. My kids won’t be pulling on the strings either, they are very independent..sometimes to independent.
Linda says
wearing my apron sure does help save my wardrobe! and even if your children don’t pull on those apron strings, they surely do need us. Glad you are raising independent thinkers!
Brandy says
I just realized I have been doing a ton of cooking and baking with NO apron! I need one π
Linda says
oh, my yes Brandy! you need an apron π
Misty Folwell says
I do wear an apron occasionally, but my youngest daughter wears them far more often! We have a few that have been hand made, some from my grandmother. They are a treat to slip on, and make us smile!
Linda says
it’s wonderful so many ladies have aprons passed down to them from mothers and grandmothers – and now your daughter is carrying on the tradition! May aprons make me smile too π
deborah says
I always wear an apron when cooking! Although my mom did not, my grandma did. I’d like to think it’s my connection with her and a way to pass along a tradition. <3 aprons!
Linda says
π It’s a wonderful tradition! I don’t remember my mom wearing an apron much either. The messy cook that I am, good thing I wear an apron!
Kristy Jensen says
I love aprons. I have been collecting them for years. I usually go to antique shops to find them.

I currently do not wear an apron. I love the vintage style ones! I’ve been looking at patterns and toying with the idea of making one π
Linda says

Andrea says
Yes to Aprons!! I love them!!
Linda says
yay! another Apron lover!
Rachel says
I do wear aprons. I have a beautiful one that my mom got me for my birthday one year, it has chickens on it and my name embroidered on it. It’s almost too nice to wear for normal cooking. My kids are still clingning.
Linda says
how special to have a hand-picked apron from your mother. There is joy in having children still clinging, even amid the chaos π
Amy Bradsher says
I wear a paisley one that my grandmother gave me.
Linda says
Paisley – how fun! most of mine have flowers, I think.
Lynne says
I tend to not be an apron wearer – but I have a dear friend who is – so she will be getting this if I win! My 2 boys are 27 and 24, and the oldest one got married last year – so we’ve been empty nesters for awhile – there is good and bad to that!
Linda says
a sweet friend you are π our oldest is turning 28 soon and I understand about the good and the bad. I suppose each season of life is like that!
EJ Blohm says
I used to have several handmade aprons, but lost them in a house fire 2 years ago. Haven’t worn one in a while.
Linda says
I’m so sorry to hear about your house fire. I’ve wondered how I would handle a traumatic event like that. I think it’s for you to have a new apron!
Melissa Bell says
I wear a plain pink apron that my husband bought me from Williams Sonoma. It’s okay, but I would love to have something pretty!
Linda says
I’m sure you looks pretty in plain pink, but it’s always nice to have a spare apron on hand!
kama says
My mom made me a few aprons a few years ago but I rarely wear them. I guess if I’m cooking something that might splatter I do. I like bright colored ones. My kids are all 5 and under, so still clinging to the apron strings. Two still literally do!
Linda says
I like bright cheerful colors too – I can relate to cooking splatters and clingy ones π
Jessica Medina says
I do not usually wear one but my mom does!
Linda says
interesting – my grown daughters don’t usually wear one either. Hmmm, I wonder what that means?
Shirley Wood says
I Love aprons and have a Pinterest board devoted them! I do wear an apron when I’m cooking a big meal. My Mom was an apron wearer and I now have her precious aprons. Both of my daughters are grown, married and gone. We are very much loving our life as empty nesters π
Linda says
I need to come see your pinterest board Shirley! I am seeing how aprons are often a legacy passed down from one generation to another. It will be some time before we have an empty nest, but I am beginning to have a bit more freedom π
CW says
Right now I’m wearing an ancient, stained apron that was my work uniform when I was in high school. It keeps my clothes looking better.
Linda says
I can relate – I wear my aprons, and it shows! I get rather attached with my comfortable old friends, and I hesitate to dirty up my new ones. Such is the life of an apron wearer π
Emily says
I love APRONS! I just don’t wear them often enough.
Linda says
I think there must be a reason each day to wear an apron!
