It’s Friday morning and around the blogosphere you hear the tap-tap-tapping of fingers on keyboards as they unabashedly type out their thoughts for 5 minutes on the assigned word, and share their raw, unedited writing for everyone to read over at Lisa-Jo Baker’s place.
GO!
Belong. A word that word that brings up a yearning, a desire in the heart. “I just want to fit in.” “I just want to be a part of things.” “I just want to belong to someone.” These words ring in my ears from days gone by. Those long-ago awkward teen years. And those not-so-long-ago days when all I needed was a friend to share with and to understand me.
We were created to belong, to be in relationship, to be in fellowship. God created. He created so we would be in fellowship with Him. He created so the first man would have companionship. So man and woman would belong to one another.
What’s that saying . . . “No man is an island.” We were never meant to be alone. Each of us needs to belong. Ultimately, the only One we must belong to is Jesus. Without Him, all other relationships will eventually fall through our fingers like sand.
STOP!

Thank you. I suppose I am at the stage in life of where I would love to have an older woman in the church who understood my convictions and encouraged me in them to continue going along this path I am certain He is calling me along in His soft gentle tones with his hand directly in front of me. So, belonging is a nice sound, but I seem to belong best with my beloved husband, our two growing blessings. We go along this path of life knowing God loves us and watching as He grows us in many different ways together. *smile* Have a blessed day and thanks for sharing. Sincerely, Mommy of two growing blessings & so much more!
With your husband and your children is the very best place to be 🙂 thank you visiting and for your kind comment, Blessings!
thanks for sharing.
I’m glad you stopped by, Denise. Have a wonderful weekend!
This is a lovely post – We are not to be alone, and Jesus has promised to never leave or forsake us! Thanks for visiting my blog and your sweet comments on my post : “Butter the Real Thing.”
Thank you, Hazel. I’m so glad you stopped by 🙂 I’m holding on to that promise He’s given! Have a blessed weekend.
As a homeschooling mom, I have heard these things from my children many times. It’s hard to explain that sometimes belonging isn’t always best with certain groups. We all need friends though.
I do like your blog. Thank you so much for dropping by at mine.
Jesus Bless You!

thank you, Laura, for your nice comment 🙂 the whole friends/belonging thing is harder for some kids than others. We’ve been able to work through that with our children so far, praise God. I’m happy to have you visit here, I look forward to seeing you again soon. Blessings!
