Thank you. I appriciate your comment left on my journal as well. *smile* But, thank now for sharing this verse. I was just here yesterday and got to thinking how I need to be a better moon. Where I reflect the Son in all His glory.
I also got to looking at the new core curriculum book you are planning on using this year. I thought it was worth looking at since you have been at this far longer than myself and you say you are Christian. It’s hard to tell in cyber land, but I have been here off and on so I thought I would take a look. I like the book, but really like my Rod and Staff and since my beloved and I were brought up going to public school most of our schooling (I did have a couple years on private school) we think through things in that mannor still as we are beginning this journey. We have an eight year old son and a six year old daughter and we use Rod and Staff curriculum. Our son is in fourth grade and our daughter in third. Please keep popping in with your encouraging words on my blog as well. It’s wonderful to hear that not only can it be done but it can have great returns.
Be a GREAT moon. *smile* Sincerely, Mommy of two growing blessings & so much more!
Hello 🙂 I’m glad you stopped by for a visit.
Rod and Staff is a good solid Bible-based curriculum. It is a different teaching method than the unit study approach I have used, but still very good. It’s a great blessing to have the freedom to choose what works best for our own children and family situation.
I try to remember that our curriculum is only a tool. Giving our children a firm foundation in scripture, with a knowledge of the One True God and His Son Jesus is of the utmost importance, no matter what curriculum we choose.
I always enjoy your thought and comments, Have a blessed week!
I completely agree about the main focus in the home is teaching the children about God and His only son Jesus. Our eight year old son and our six year old daughter have both chosen to believe in Him. Now to learn what He would have for us to do. When a fallen person as myself is their momma, I can only pray God will shine out and that they will fallow Him. *smile* I really like Rod and Staff and have been scared to try the unit study method. I know how Rod and Staff or Christian Light work and I “get” them, but am interested in how other methods work for other families. *smile* I have read several on unschooling or online schooling, then there’s the charlet mason style, so many and I really don’t understand how they all work. *smile* So, I read. *big smile* Have a great day and thanks for making the time to encourage this daughter of the One True King, wife, and momma who homeschools along the path. *smile* We are only four years into the bushes now and each year is new with new growth and new questions about Him. I can only hope He speaks through us as we guide these young ones toward Him. *smile* Sincerely, Mommy of two growing blessings & so much more!
Your comment on my blog was so kind, Linda! Oh, we have much in common. We’re both blessed mamas of a wide age range. Your youngest is Bekah, like mine. I see in this post that you have a daughter named Caitlin; I have a daughter Kaitlyn (Kati). We have both been homeschooling 20+ years. We both love the Lord…and that is the best!
Tomorrow, I’ll be working on planning for our upcoming school year. I am going back to your how-to’s for reference!
Hello Cheryl 🙂 It is a blessed life, isn’t it? Counting you among my friends in this blogsphere is yet another blessing. Enjoy your school planning! I still find the planning fun after all these years. Thanks for stopping in for a visit, have a blessed day!
