All through October I’ve been sharing my love of aprons with you. My aprons serve as reminders of days gone by and of special people in my life. They serve as protection for my clothing which makes my workload lighter and my takes burden off my budget. They serve as a tool of my trade – a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, nurturer, caretaker. My apron makes it appearance during mundane tasks like scrambling the eggs, pushing the vacuum cleaner, sweeping up the crumbs. It also can be seen while working side-by-side with my little ones and cuddling up for bedtime stories. I suppose you could say my apron shows how much I {heart} my family and that my Heart is for my Home.
Every Thursday I join more than a dozen bloggers to co-host the Hearts for Home Blog Hop. Nearly a hundred posts are shared each week to bolster, support, encourage, inspire and motivate our hearts toward our homes. Posts like Jolene’s on Curriculum Decisions at Monsters Ed (our most viewed from last week. We love spreading the ideas and inspiration you share with us every week! I hope you’ll take time to visit some of our wonderful contributors. Leave a comment, share a thought, pin their posts, make a friend! Hi Linda,
What a blessing to find your site! My Mom has Parkinson’s Disease and a few months back we had to move her to a nursing home. My Dad still lives at home, but in a few years he’ll be joining my Mom. I’ve started going through some of their things and recently stumbled across 5 aprons that my Grandma made. They are so beautiful! I clearly remember her wearing them everyday. She always wore a dress and she always wore an apron. One of her aprons has a giant pocket/pouch sewn into it – so handy! I’ll have to press them up and photograph them! Such a gem from the past 🙂

oh, my, Debbie. Your apron story touched my heart and made me tear up. I am so glad you happened upon these aprons. So special that you now have these reminders of special memories and special lady. Photographing them is a wonderful idea! I hope you’ll consider wearing them, too. Aprons really do love to be worn 😉
