I homeschool my own 3 but then have 3 preschoolers qnd 2 babies on top of that. Haha I count as a large family during the day right haha
You absolutely count as a large family! You are one busy mama, Emmalee π
We have 6 children total, but only 3 are “schooling” right now. Eventually, all will be, at least for a year or two. π
You are blessed, Kristi π 5 is the most we’ve ‘officially’ schooled at one time because of the span between ages. You have exciting days ahead!
I’ve got 4, but only homeschool 3, as the youngest is just a toddler and his school is play π
They learn so much when playing – that is the perfect curriculum for a 3 year old π
I have 7 children and I’m currently homeschooling 4 of them.
It’s a good life, isn’t Sarah?
I homeschool my four!
Busy hands, happy heart π
We have 8 children, and 5 of them are of schooling age. I think entertaining the youngest 3 is harder than homeschooling the older 5!!
ah, yes! I remember well, Sara π Hang in there, Mom – you are doing a wonderful job and I can tell you that the hard work is most definitely worth it. Blessings to you and your family!
Thank you Linda!! I appreciate your words of wisdom!!
π you are welcome, Sara
I have three children and hope to have one or two more so, I’m hoping to homeschool 4-5 children at once.
How wonderful it would be for God to bless you with another blessing or two! amazing how our love for our children multiplies rather than being divided.
Oh, and I didn’t notice this until after but my husband’s FB was the one I signed in with (I thought it was weird that the FB one let me like since I was certain I already had!) His name is Peter Simonitis so, bonus “like” for you and I hope it still counts as an entry!
lol, Ren of course it counts! I’ll take care of the bookkeeping π
Great giveaway! I have 4 children and currently homeschooling 3 of them. In about 3 years I will be homeschooling all 4 of them π
ah, yes π I remember those days well!
I currently have four kids 5 and under (only God knows how many more children we’ll be blessed with in the coming years). I plan to “start” homeschooling this next year.
You are a blessed woman π and your homeschooling will very likely begin as a natural extension of what you are already doing with your children – you’ll do great!
I only homeschool one, but I do home daycare, and like to try to include the younger kids when possible.
that is wonderful, Marcy. The little ones pick up so much just be being in a learning atmosphere.
At least 6, because that is what we have so far
π wonderful!
We have six kids so far. Only two are technically school aged–my twelve year old and our severely disabled seven year old. But to keep things simple on me, I’m doing a big pre-k/k school push with the seven year old, five year old and four year old. It seems to work, and the two year old participates when she can. Then I just have two sets of lessons to keep track of, at least for a few years!
We have taught just this way at different times in our family. There are many ways to incorporate multi-ages when teaching and that is one of the beauties of homeschooling – we can customize it to fit our particular circumstance and needs. Our little ones pick up a lot just by being with us as we work with the older ones. My young ones learned a lot from their older siblings.
We have 5 boys. Next school year they will be K, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades. It kinda scares me just to type that out! π We’re going to be trying out My Father’s World next year…excited but scared too!
How fun! we have similar ages in our homeschool – you’ll do great! I’ve heard good things about My Father’s World, have a wonderful time with it π
I had to do some math to figure out who would be in school at the same time!
I think there will be one year when I have all 6 schooling, but that will be the only year (and will span from high school senior down to K).
I have to do those math gymnastics at times, myself Katriina π we have had that large span in our schooling too – makes life interesting!
I have 4 children and homeschool 3 of them. We foster and are hoping to adopt again. I include the children in our family’s group lessons. I would love to win a copy of Amy’s book. I enjoy reading Raising Arrows and am working my way through Amy’s book on scheduling.
Sounds like a wonderfully busy household, Angela π I’m happy to meet another Raising Arrows fan. Amy’s scheduling book has been one of the most helpful I”ve ever read – I hope it is as helpful to you as it has been to me!
I am homeschooling five kids ranging in age from 2 1/2 to 15. Yes, I count them all as homeschooled b/c even the youngest two ask for school so I have things for them to do during the school hours. They don’t work on school as long as the 1st grader or the high schoolers but they have things to do π
Mothers begin teaching even before their child is born. π I’m sure your little ones are learning plenty just by being exposed to your daily schooling with the older ones.
Thank you for your encouraging blog!! We are a family of 7 & growing, I could really use this book! Amy is such a blessing to me as well!
Welcome to Apron Strings & other things, Brie π I know this book will bless your growing family. Happy to meet another lady who’s been encouraged by this sweet friend.
I homeschool my 4 kids!
yay! what a wonderful lifestyle for you and your children π
I currently have 7 I am homeschooling, but that number will go up. Most likely, the most I will have at the same time 9 because my oldest should be done before my youngest starts.
I love seeing the numbers and doing the math π Our oldest 3 graduated by the time our youngest was officially school age. Adds a whole new dimension to life!
I homeschool my 3 oldest (ages 14, 11, and 7), and also have 2 little ones, ages 3 and 1.
how fun, Shannon!
I currently have 8 children. Baby number 9 is due in Sept. Also, my oldest two have graduated and one is married so this year in June I become Grandma too! Exciting times! I currently am only homeschooling 3 ages 14, 6 and 5 years. But will be adding many little siblings in the next few years.
Congratulations on your newest blessing, Anna! and welcome to the Grandma Club π Life is full and exciting when we have children of such an age range. I always thought it would be such fun to be expecting at the same time as my daughter, but it wasn’t God’s plan. I’m so glad you have joined our Blogiversary Party this week!
Thanks for such a fabulous giveaway! This would be a great be resource to own .
You are very welcome Trish π
I am homeschooling 4. A 13, 12, 10, and a 8 year old and I also have an 18 month old that loves to play. We are expecting number 6 in July and maybe more after God willing. We love our large family.
How wonderful! Congratulations on your newest blessing π Your days are full and busy, I am sure but what a rich life you must have π
About to start with my 3 under 4 π gotta start somewhere!
start ’em early, love ’em lots, have fun! I quickly learned that their education really started at birth (or before) – it’s an exciting journey!
We have 3 doing school and two littles here.
I’m sure there’s never a dull moment at your house – enjoy these days!
I have four children but the most that will be homeschooling at the same time is three. The kids range in age from 1-17 yrs and it is so fun having kids ranging in such a wide span of years! I know I don’t have as large of a family as some others and some may not consider our a “large family” but….I was not “trained” to be a homemaker as a child so……..being a homemaker/homeschooler has had huge challenges. We are all learning new things and I have to say that some of the LIFE lessons have been a little harder that our school work (at times) but it has been so fulfilling knowing that we are doing what God wants us to do. Hope to win the book. I love RaisingArrows.net and look forward to reading posts from Apron Strings and Other Things! Thanks
π your post made me smile, Amanda. You have just the family God has given to you and sounds like you are working at enjoying your family and giving them your best. Our children teach us so much, God teaches us so much through them. So glad you have joined in our party this week!
I homeschool my oldest 2, ages 7 and 5, and have a 4yo and 1yo tagging along!
how fun π your days are probably similar to our early homeschooling days!
I have 4 children. Currently, only the oldest is officially doing school.
The journey is just beginning!
At this time we are homeschooling 3.
π
We have four right now but are planning on more. π
the more the merrier!
