It’s time to Gather February Moments.
A look back on our days – remembering, cherishing, learning, growing – special days of pretend play with my youngest as her little bears set up housekeeping. It has been a long winter, but getting down on the floor and playing with the children makes the days fly by.
There were days of cold too many to count.
But bright blue skies brilliant above the sparkling snow. Mom slips into Dad’s boots so she can step out and capture the scene before it goes grey again. The sun seems to say, “Winter will give way to Spring, just as God promised.” I can hold on a little longer, because there is an order to the season, and He is faithful to His promises.
There were babies to kiss and spoil, Aunts and Uncles with arms open wide ready with warm and loving hugs.
ย Hard to believe its been 7 weeks already! Our newest grandbaby is way off the cuteness meter and there is nothing so promising as new life. We are happy to absorb all the sweetness of this little life every chance we can get!
There were evenings full of fun and games and laughter with family and with friends.
Have you ever spent the evening with 30 kids of varying ages, threading pasta onto spaghetti noodles or walking oreos down your face without using your hands? Or blowing plastic cups across the table with a straw. How about knocking them down – elephant nose style? You really must try it! Laughter guaranteed! It is good medicine for the soul, you know.
There were days to share our hearts and our dreams and gifts of love.
So much of how our culture celebrates Valentine’s Day is a direct result of the marketing experts from greeting card companies and mail order florists. The man I married is too smart to follow along with what everyone else says love is. My man does what he can to make my life easier – like replacing my worn-out broken-down washing machine. THAT is the way to this woman’s heart!
There were new opportunities – to venture out, to learn and to grow.
It’s been exciting to take the beginning steps in building my Lilla Rose business. My granddaughters and my daughters have been patient models, letting me practice and play with new hair styles and accessories. So much fun, playing ‘beauty shop’ like when I was a little girl.
I am grateful, I am blessed, I am loved. As we spend much more time than usual pent up indoors because of the harsh weather, I find myself thinking on this verse:
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.ย [Philippians 2:1-4]
Please join me as I meet up at Cheryl’s Gathering the Moments event with others who are sharing images and remembrances of their February days. What special moments are you gathering from your February days? Are you looking forward to Spring as much as I am? You’ll find hints of spring at our All Things Spring Link Up.
Sharing this post at some of these wonderful places.

Oh, I enjoyed seeing your “moments” again this month, Linda! I think that your new washing machine is a far better Valentine than a box of candy or an overpriced card. And it’s nice to see your photos of fun and games and see happy faces in the bleak midwinter! Yes, spring is coming!
Thanks for linking up!
Thank you Cheryl. Gathering these moments is a lot of fun, and helping me get my focus where it needs to be. I am so glad you started hosting this monthly party ๐

Thanks so much for sharing your February moments. It has been so cold where we live too!! Like below zero or not higher than the twenties. The snow hasn’t melted so I can’t see the crocuses ๐ Linking up next to you over at R & R with Rosilind.
ah, Judith, we will so enjoy the renewal of Spring this year, won’t we? Our snow finally melted off yesterday. I’m holding on, hoping the moisture and some sunshine will bring out those early Spring flowers. Thank you for taking time to stop in today. Blessings!
