I think I look forward to shopping for school supplies even more than I enjoy Christmas shopping. The smell and feel of brand new crayons and folders and pencils, oh my! Last week we picked up a few. After I give you a peek at some of what we stocked up on this year, we’ll get to this week’s blog hop!
I was disappointed we really didn’t need much. With my children all being middle school age and older our shopping list looks a little different than it used to. Along with the basic paper, notebooks, pens type of supplies, I find myself shopping for things like these (yes, my affil. links, but you’ll these supplies anywhere you prefer to shop):
mini index cards on a jump ring —Β great for flash cards or fact cards, perfect for keep memory verses handy -they fit into a pocket or backpack
ear buds – really! more and more we have kids working lessons on the computer or listening to videos or music – everyone needs their own set in their own color, with a pair to spare!
tape, tape, tape – you can never have enough tape! scotch, washi, masking, duct …. always need tape!
and my beloved sharpie markers – we always have some of the colors around, but it’s the classic black markers you can never have too many of – I keep one in the kitchen for labeling leftovers and one near my mailing supplies and a few in the school room and one in my purse.
and my bonus resource – Mom’s planner – this is a classic, spiral bound day planner that I love and use and carry with me everywhere. It supplements, compliments our school planner – my Homemaker’s Friend for sure.
Now, for updates on last week’s blog hop. Our most viewed post was Living in the Wide Open Spaces. And my featured posts this week are:
I hope you’ll take a moment to visit them. You won’t be disappointed! And I know you’ll want to see what everyone is sharing in this week’s

I can relate to your feelings about school shopping! With only one student this year, I keep feeling as if I am forgetting something!
And thank you for the honor of being featured here this week — and for all the loving attention my post received in the last week’s party!

It’s a new season of life, isn’t it Michele? I think I’ll always have to shop the back to school sales, even when my children are finished with schooling at home π
So happy to know you are getting attention – that makes my day! Enjoy your weekend.

I haven’t shopped for supplies yet but it seems taps and glue are always gone so fast! Meanwhile I have pencils from our first year. Just joined your hop link up. It’s my first one ever too. Thanks for hosting <3.

we are always running out of tape here, too. And it just about kills met o have to pay full price mid-year! I have learned to stock up now, when the stores are offering a good supply for a decent price.
It’s always a blessing to have left-overs from the previous year – good for you!
I am honored to be hosting your first blog hop ever π so glad you joined us!
