For everything there is a season, and for every season there is proper decor. In our home, it just isn’t Fall until we have our sunflowers, autumn leaves, Indian Corn, pumpkins and gourds strewn around here and there.
Taking time to add little touches of the season in your home set the tone for everyone who lives there, everyone who enters, letting them know that they are special. It can be as easy as placing a basket of seasonal flowers on the sideboard.
Or leaving a jar of holiday candy for loved ones to sample as they come and go.
Adding fresh flowers from the garden or an inexpensive bouquet purchased at the grocery store or favorite blooms from the florist shop make any meal a luxurious feast.
Think outside the box when setting the atmosphere of the season. Float apples in a bowl of water, use hollowed out pumpkins in place of vases, fill votives with wheat or rice before nestling in tea lights. The unexpected always brings a smile to their faces.
All my daughters have enjoyed adding their special touches with the changing of the seasons. In the photos above you see evidence of their handywork over recent years. It’s become a family tradition we look forward to every year, bringing reminders of God’s handiwork into our lives, our rooms, our atmosphere. A reminder the He is faithful to bring the seasons as He promised.

Welcome back Laura 🙂
Autumn is my favorite season and I can hardly wait to get the decorations out from under our steps. My husband or son usually takes care of that for me but I’m anxious to get started so I might just crawl under myself.
Your decorations and ideas were lovely. Loved the pumpkins as vases and the candle lights. They warm up the season so much.
Blessings,
Janis
I would be getting antsy to pull out those boxes myself, with the lovely fall weather we’ve been having 😀 Thank you for sweet comment, enjoy the season and have fun adding your own special seasonal touches to your home!
