I’ve often said that when I began homeschooling my children I began my own education all over again. I’ve learned so much alongside my children. It’s been an exciting journey with many ups and downs, twists and turns. Sometimes the thing that kept me going was the listening ear of a friend or a kind word from a fellow homeschooling mom who had been-there-done-that.
Every Mom can use a little extra encouragement and I’d like to share with you a list of encouraging words I’ve collected over more the two decades of homeschooling. On Mondays (or most Mondays) over the next few months I’ll be sharing my own ABC’s – Homeschooling Mom Style, as a way to encourage and build up my fellow homeschooling moms.
As we work through the alphabet (one letter each Monday) I’ll update below with the links to each post. You can follow along in order from A to Z or you can hop around and choose the ones that speak to you today. Let’s get back to basics and re-learn our ABC’s!

I’m going to be participating in a link up A to Z and will be writing about life as a full time working homeschool mom. Looking forward to reading your posts!

That sounds wonderful, Barbie! Adding in a hobby, part time business, and a bit of blogging on top of my homeschool mom role makes me feel like I’m working full time and then some – I look forward to your series!

I love this theme! I know I can always use some extra encouragement. Sometimes homeschooling can be a very isolating experience for us moms.
I’m also participating in the A to Z link up. My theme is Bible Verses Through the Alphabet.
Linda says
Hi, TaMara! We can all use a little encouragement now and then, right? Your A to Z series sound terrific, I’m looking forward to it!
Dana says
I chose a similar theme! Looking forward to reading your take.
And yes, that’s what I love about homeschooling. I am getting an education alongside my children. Some of it I’m sure my teacher did say something about while I wasn’t paying attention, but I can’t have been THAT distracted. I was a good student and got good grades, but a lot of this is still brand new!
Linda says
That’s great, Dana! We can always use plenty of encouragement 🙂
I’m with you – it amazed me how much I could not learning much of what I should have. It’s been fun learning again!
