Scripture Cards and Table Talk Cards

Dinner conversation. Does it exist at your table? Do you eat in silence and everyone dash to their own corners when the meal is over? Or does everyone talk over one another shouting to be heard before the next guy gets a chance to tell their story? There’s something about gathering around the table, breaking bread together that builds relationship and strengthens the family – conversing with one another and sharing in discussions fosters that.

Sarah Avila from My Joy Filled Life has created a set of conversation starters for the dinner table. I love these! Table Card Family Dinner Conversation Starters gives you whole set of questions and topics for discussion to jump-start the conversation around the dinner table.

Sarah has also created these lovely Scripture Cards for Pregnancy. So many women experience fear, worry, doubt, impatience, and insecurity during what is supposed to be a mostly joyous and happy time. Focusing on scripture helps keep it all in perspective and builds our courage and strength as we prepare for birth.

I would like the table talk because I’m not pregnant and I think the cards will be a great thing to do with my kids.

  2. I would choose the table talk cards to use as a gift to my oldest daughter. She is the mother to 5 wonderful children. They would really enjoy the blessing of using these.

  3. I would choose the table talk cards because the dr has shut down my baby factory haha

  4. I would choose the table talk cards, because I’d love to guide my boys in the direction of productive, positive discussion at the table. Without direction chaos ensues!! I will likely purchase the baby ones next time I am pregnant, they are exactly what I need to calm my spirit in those months!

    • Boys at the dinner table guarantee chaos, er, I mean lively conversation ๐Ÿ˜‰ Good for you, taking the lead and bringing a little directing and focus. It’ll be good for everyone! and I know you’ll enjoy the pregnancy cards when the time comes ๐Ÿ™‚

I would choose the gender neutral pregnancy set. My best friend is pregnant with her 6th and has some health challenges that may cause disability in the baby. She could use the encouragement, as she’s a little scared right now.

    • Oh, my. What a dear friend you are Kristin – these cards could offer just the encouragement she needs. I am adding your friend to my prayer list this evening.

  7. I would love the table talk cards! Being mama of 5 boys, this could really spark some fun conversation!

  8. I would probably pick the table cards as I’m not currently pregnant and neither is anyone in my family although those would be nice as well!

  9. Well since I just went ahead and purchased the pregnancy ones I’d say the family conversation starters. ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. I would most definitely love to receive the pregnancy cards. I’m not currently pregnant, but we are trusting in the Lord’s timing (and I would like His timing to be next month :)). We are planning on a natural birth, and I would love to have these Scriptures with me! I may be suggesting these to DH as a birthday present!

    • these cards will be the perfect addition to your birthing tool bag, Allyson. the birthday present is a fantastic idea!

  12. This sounds like the best gift to give to an expectant mother or a new mom or any lady in that matter. *big smile* Getting encouragement from God’s inspired word is far more lasting and helpful than anything we can purchase at the store. Thank you for sharing this with all of us and for offering a giveaway drawing. It’s fantastic! Sincerely, Mommy of two growing blessings & so much more!

    • You are very welcome! I agree – God’s Word is the very best gift we could give anyone, and perfect for expectant/new moms ๐Ÿ™‚
